I paint with acrylics in an impressionistic figurative way about what I see. I respond to our visually exciting environment, but I will also actively seek out sources relating to something I am exploring.

Sketching records my initial impression, an important springboard that begins the development through to an acrylic painting. The painting is continually questioned, and changes occur, small and large scale.

 

I like to leave some evidence of under painting, this helps enliven the composition and shows some of the journey a painting undertakes.
