Alison Ross is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist  and poet based in North Wales.

 

Working primarily in acrylic, she creates figurative paintings exploring memory, stillness, human connection and the subtle space between the ordinary and the imagined.

 

Poetry is an integral part of her creative practice. Her poems and paintings often develop alongside one another, each helping to shape the atmosphere and emotional language of the other.

 

Her figures inhabit quiet interiors and atmospheric coastal landscapes, often accompanied by animals, moonlight or symbolic elements. With touches of magical realism and an open-ended, cinematic quality, the paintings invite viewers to pause and discover their own stories within them.

 

Whether richly coloured and decorative or quiet and pared back, the figure remains at the heart of her work.
